Sofia International Airport

Bulgaria's main international airport is situated in Sofia and handles more than half of the flights coming into the country. Normal flight time from the UK is approximately 2.5 hours. Bulgaria Air and British Airways both provide daily flights from London. We believe it is only a matter of time before the low cost airlines enter the Bulgarian area as more and more people make the journey eastwards. Having landed at Sofia, you will find that there are various means of land transport available to take you onwards to your final destination. Rental Cars are available in the arrivals lounge. Taxi's are available outside of the terminal buidling with typical taxi fares ranging from £1 -£4 for local destinations in and around the city. There are good regular bus/coach services available from Sofia to all destinations within Bulgaria with a typical one way trip to Varna of about 5.5 hours costing from around £12. The Ski Resorts and winter resorts of Borovets, Bansko and Pamporovo are only a couple of hours drive from Sofia. In general, transportation services are of good quality and reliability.

Varna International Airport and Bourgas International Airport

Varna and Bourgas Airports are the gateways to the Black Sea Coastal resorts and during the summer months is very busy with charter flights coming in from many destinations throughout Europe as well as Russia. Being only a short distance from ther coast transfer times are shorter and taxis to and from the main resorts are relatively cheap.

Shuttles and regular bus services are readily available between Bourgas and Varna (2 hours) and the resorts in between.
